A moving spirit can be felt from the moment William McDowell’s latest album begins, the follow-up to the first Sounds Of Revival recording. Deeper (buy) features an incredible supporting cast such as Israel Houghton and Tina Campbell (among several others) on contemplative, prayerful songs intended for personal and corporate worship settings. “In Your Presence” is a powerful congregational number, while “Falling on My Knees” is ideally suited for a devotional time. Charles & Taylor’s appearance on “You Are The One” is turned into a particularly poignant number near the album’s end.
