The downside to Micah Tyler’s new album Different (buy) is that all six of the songs from his EP of the same name are included here. For fans hungry for more sweet pop hooks, there are only 5 new tracks (along with a nice acoustic version of the title track). The good news is those new songs live up to the musical bar set by the compelling EP. “Comeback Song” is an instant ear-worm as is “Soul Song,” and both will sound great live, as well. “If She Only Knew” treads familiar inspirational ground, but Tyler’s potential is worth watching over the long haul even as you enjoy several tracks in the present.
