Burn the Ships
(Curb/Word)
At this point, for King & Country needs no introduction. The duo’s albums are loved by critics and fans alike, and the brothers’ global tour schedule keeps them plenty busy between albums. If you’ve been eager to hear what’s next from Joel and Luke Smallbone, Burn the Ships is here, and with its epic soundscapes and energetic, hopeful songwriting, it’s a pop album you won’t want to miss.
You’ve probably heard the addictive summer single “joy,” and the song’s infectious beat and timely message for wearying times is only the beginning. Modern pop beats abound in tracks like “Amen” and “Fight on Fighter,” while “Burn the Ships” serves as a rallying cry to walk into a new way of living. Rounding the album out is “Pioneers,” an earnest marriage ballad that includes Joel and Luke’s wives—Moriah Peters and Courtney Smallbone—and turns out more sweet than gimmicky.
Burn the Ships one of the best Christian pop records of the year, sure to bring joy to old and new fans alike.
