Stockings have been emptied. Presents have been opened. A month full of dinners and parties and gatherings have come and gone and left us full of food we shouldn’t have eaten and, hopefully, meaningful holiday moments.
As we turn the corner this wintry season, we often take time to reflect upon the last 12 months while we make decisions about the year ahead. As you think about the sort of hopes you have for 2019, we thought we’d ask some of our favorite artists for inspiration by giving us their own resolutions.

I want to be more present. I want to limit distraction, like my phone, so that I am always in the moment.
Jordan Feliz
My New Year’s Resolution for 2019 is to lean even more on my relationship with Jesus, spend more quality time with my family, and continue to steward all that God has blessed us with!
Austin French
My new year resolution is to spend my time on the road this year in my ministry raising funds to translate a chapter of the Bible into a language that doesn’t have the Bible translated yet. By the end of next year I want to have completed a whole chapter.
Emily Hamilton (For All Seasons)
It’s so easy to lose sight of the blessings God has given, so this next year I plan to write down one thing every day that I’m thankful for.
Johnny Hamilton (For All Seasons)
After all these years on the road, visiting new places and meeting new people, I’m hoping to really take time and embrace each day. To do that, I’m going to document a small part of each day through a “one second a day” video diary.
Caitie Hurst
I want to never have my car below 1/4 of a tank of gas. I’m always running on below empty, so I want to change my ways this year.
Jasmine Murray
One of my goals for next year is to have an opportunity to travel abroad to share the gospel through my music and my ministry. I have never been out of the country and I think it would be so amazing to share the good news with people all over the world.
Neon Feather
I’ve never been big on resolutions but I do want to be intentional about maintaining space in my schedule for quality time and weekend trips with my wife in our first full year of marriage.
Peabod
My New Year’s resolution is to get better at rest. I’m really good at filling my time with all sorts of things, so I want to make sure rest is a priority as I go into a busy year.
Plumb
To say no more often, even to seemingly “good” things, for the sake of what is best, especially as it relates to my marriage and my family.
John Tibbs
In 2019, I want to better prioritize the important things in my life—family, friends, joy, and love. I want to worry less. And of course, I think 2019 will bring some new music. Happy New Year!
