Hey everybody!
I love electronic dance music (EDM). It’s pulse-pounding, epic workout/driving/cooking/sleeping (kidding) music that can pump you up, inspire you and provide instant cardio.
You’ve probably heard of Capital Kings, but did you know there are a number of Christian artists making pretty incredible EDM?
(Sometimes it’s called CEDM — Christian electronic dance music.)
Here are my 7 favorite CEDM artists, in no particular order:
GAWVI
I already talked about how much I love GAWVI. He’s not a straight-up EDM artist because he does so many different genres of music, but he can turn on the EDM (and often does). It’s Caribbean-flavored, urban-influenced and plain old fun.
Transform
Got to interview these guys in Season 1. They have incredible music, a beautiful pro-life message, and all the energy in the world.
Andy Hunter
This guy is the O.G. of CEDM. He’s been making great tunes for a long time. Now with his Presence project (an app, album and contemplative devotional), he’s making things more chill.
Capital Kings
Sadly, these guys aren’t together anymore! But while they were together, this Gotee Records pair reeled off a number of radio and club-friendly hits like “I Feel So Alive” and “Love Is On Our Side.”
LZ7
British DJ LZ7 makes upbeat, exciting tunes that layer his unique baritone voice over hopeful anthems. They’re stinking fun too.
Matthew Parker
He’s literally making the best EDM in the Christian music space right now. He also was on this show. That’s not connected, necessarily. He’s also an epic remixer. (Shameless plug: He remixed one of my songs.)
Neon Feather
Another recent guest on this show, Neon Feather is a master remixer but also has released a number of complex and ingenious original songs.
