Reflection:
For some, life is a series of struggles. Inexplicable, insurmountable hurt and frustration. For them, it’s not enough to know that “suffering produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope” (Romans 5:3-4). They want to know WHY.
They aren’t alone in their quest. Job, who was a blameless and upright man, got hit with unthinkable disasters that affected him and his family. He desperately questioned God and God’s goodness. And yet, after all the tears, anguish, and pain, he was able to proclaim, “I have heard of you by the hearing of the ear, but now my eyes have seen you” (Job 42:5). Job saw God thru his tears! He talked with God in the midst of his misery! He finally came near, and came to know, the Holy One, the Faithful One!
Could it be, that God in His great mercy allows tears so we may see Him more clearly?
