Recording artist KNOWDAVERBS has been following through with, demonstrating and acting out his faith around the world for years. Add to that his infectious, compelling songs and strident devotion to Christ, and you’ve got one dynamic mouthpiece for Christianity.

“I ended up reading the Bible and turned those stories into rap songs,” he explains. And then he took his songs to the streets— literally. After his first mission trip to Russia in 2001, he was hooked with the call to global ministry. Since then, he has lived in South Africa, traveled to Kosovo and India and even ministered within his current hometown of Nashville, Tenn. Everywhere he goes, the message is the same: God’s love.

The appeal of his music transcends so many ethical boundaries that he merely opens his mouth and a foundation for Christ has been laid. His latest ventures include a workshop called The Train Station. There, teens between the ages of 12 and 20 can learn any of the four basic elements of hip-hop—break dancing, DJ’ing, graphic design and songwriting. “It’s designed to challenge young people to see what ability God has placed in their lives,” KNOWDAVERBS says.

And from Cape Town, South Africa to Botswana, the participants have come away refreshed, encouraged and challenged to live a life worthy of the words they have learned to say. For him, that’s really what it’s all about anyway. “I have to make sure that what I record is my own life as well,” he says.

“I realize that I no longer am representing myself… I’m representing a whole kingdom as an ambassador.” Louder than words? Loud enough for a kingdom…
