Nashville, TN (November 29, 2020)
It is the most wonderful time of the year, and who better to serenade the most special season than GRAMMY Award-winner, Francesca Battistelli?! A childhood immersed in art, music, dance, and theatre prepared Francesca for a future of bringing all aspects of the holiday season—the sacred and the festive—to life through music. With a voice and a presence synonymous with Christmas, Battistelli is overjoyed to share her second, full-length Christmas album with the world. The 14-track This Christmas, featuring “Behold Him,” “Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer,” “Messiah,” and “Marshmallow World (Remastered),” is available now.
This Christmas mixes holiday classics with original material, anchored by a track list that emphasizes the spiritual nature of the holiday one minute with new takes on season favorites the next. The arrangements are equally diverse, from the album’s a cappella rendition of “Silent Night” to the orchestral, horn-filled “Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow!”
“I am so excited to get to share these songs with all of you!,” shares Battistelli. “Making this Christmas album has been an absolute labor of love. We started a year and a half ago, and I don’t think I’ve ever enjoyed an album process so much that I didn’t want it to end! Through all of the uncertainty that 2020 has brought, it’s been a true bright spot to get to write and record these songs. I think they are a great “sequel” to my first Christmas album, and my hope is that you will enjoy them just as much. I know that for many people, the Christmas season can be very difficult. My prayer is that these songs offer hope, glorify Jesus, bring joy (and maybe even some laughter!), and truly bless you, year after year.”
With her offering on This Christmas, Battistelli showcases her talent not only for interpreting the classic sounds of the season but for creating timeless songs of her own. Just wait until you hear “Christmas Valentine!”
Since her Gold-certified debut, My Paper Heart, Dove Award-winning artist Francesca Battistelli has propelled three consecutive studio projects to the top of the Billboard Christian Albums Chart, and notched seven No. 1 radio singles, including multi-format, 15-week chart-topper, “Holy Spirit.” The wife and mother of five, has appeared on Good Morning America and FOX & Friends and has seen her music placed in a variety of high-profile films and television shows. In addition to one GRAMMY win and four career GRAMMY nominations, Battistelli has garnered a Billboard Music Award nod, two K-LOVE Fan Awards, and six Dove Awards, including being named the Gospel Music Association’s Dove Award for Artist of the Year. With total on-demand streams exceeding 502 million, YouTube views of more than 84.8 million, and total equivalent sales of 2.2 million, the singer/songwriter continues to be one of the strongest voices in Christian music.
