Marcus Sullivan of Blessedbeatz (the number one syndicated Christian hip-hop show) recently said, “There is something fire coming out of Idaho, Boise’s RandyB Funk. At just nineteen years old, RandyB Funk is one of the up-and-coming artists to definitely watch out for.”
Another quote, from Epic Mic and Alyssa, of Real Music Entertainment, “Watch for RandyB Funk out of Boise, Idaho, big heart, great music.”
Raised in Maui, Hawaii, RandyB moved to Idaho when he was seven years old, and currently resides in a Boise suburb. With a notable tone and original music, his style is reflective of both of the cultures that shaped him. His lyrics are positive, upbeat, hope-filled and encouraging. Graduating from high school this May, RandyB is already a college student at Liberty University. He is a major community organizer, a public speaker, hip-hop artist, and promoter.
RandyB also a gifted minister of the word. He has produced 16 original songs, two music videos and has been featured in over 30 magazine or news articles. His service drives have even landed him on the local news a few times. RandyB has been attending Chamber of Commerce and networking meetings weekly, since he was 12 years old and he works with his Mom, who is a former Fortune 500 Marketing Director, both parents are entrepreneurs. To say that RandyB Funk is a poised professional is an understatement, it’s easy to forget he will just be graduating high school this May.
RandyB has opened for, or performed with, some of the most popular names in Christian hip- hop, including KB, Wande, Zauntee, Steven Malcom, 1K-Phew, 1K-Pson, Christafari, R-Swift, PEABOD and more. Other than some pointers from R-Swift, and spending a few weeks at TobyMac’s music camp, “Camp Electric” in Nashville, RandyB Funk is self- taught.
He writes, performs and in most cases, produces his own songs. He began writing songs at age 11 and recorded his first album when he was 15 years old. Since then, he’s released over 16 songs and is finishing his second album for 2022. In December 2021, RandyB released a music video of his popular song NEW DAY, which was filmed on the sparkling beaches of his former home state of Hawaii.
In February 2022, RandyB released two new songs, SWERVE (feat. Danyelle Speaks & R-Swift) and Life Gets at You (feat. R-Swift).
At age 11, RandyB started running service drives for food banks, pet shelters and rescue missions. He originally started working with the homeless in Maui, Hawaii, where he was raised. RandyB has been awarded the Prudential Award, the Star Award, the Presidential award, and he served as the Meridian City Youth Arts Commissioner for several years. He’s also been named the ‘Artist of the Month by Effect Radio’ (CSN) in 2020, and the ‘Do Good Champion’ by Project 88.7.
RandyB’s SOS Service Drives (founded at age 11) generated 10,000 items for the Boise Rescue Mission, and the Idaho Humane Society this year! He also started FIRED UP PROMOTIONS, which he co-manages with his Mom. Thousands of dollars have been generated from the ticket sales of multiple concerts, that he’s created benefiting the Boise Rescue Mission, since 2020. Artists who are interested in performing at one of these concerts can contact FIRED UP PROMOTIONS.
RandyB possesses a rare maturity for his 19 years of age and is incredibly humble for someone who has already accomplished so much. While still in high school, he attended college courses for two years, and is graduating high school in May 2022 AND he is already a student online in the Psychology Program at Liberty University.
RandyB Funk’s upcoming NEW DAY TOUR, will include local venue ministries, and take him to Florida, Nashville, California and more. RandyB Funk’s manager is booking additional performance locations now. RandyB has always offered FREE performance ministry to local churches/youth groups. He provides multiple concerts every year at the Boise Bible College, and other venues. RandyB would like to hear from promoters for additional tour stops and is still an independent artist.
Recently Christian Living Magazine asked RandyB Funk about the inspiration for his passion, “It comes from God, family and just loving people like Jesus did. I was raised in a family that believes your life is your ministry. I want my life to make a difference, I want to help people to see themselves like God does, and it just takes a determined effort. You’ve got to wake up grateful and put in the work. I just set goals and take steps to make it happen, God does the rest.”
How can people get involved with your ministry or concerts? “I’m always looking for volunteers for both my concerts and service drives. Right now I’m also accepting auditions for talented hip-hop dancers, who are also believers. We’ve got some exciting concerts planned for this year and I love creating a safe, encouraging space where kids, teens, families and seniors can all enjoy Christian Hip-hop, dancing, and making new friends. We are getting less connected as a society and it’s damaging our youth and young adults. I want to be part of the solution by bringing new friends together, where it’s okay to Love Jesus, encourage others and see yourself as valuable.”
RandyB Funk encourages youth pastors, radio DJ’s, playlist curators and promoters to reach out. Team-Funk is scheduling the NEW DAY TOUR now, for performances at your church or in your community. You can support RandyB Funk by following him on his socials and on Spotify listed below.
