Indian independent artist Vihan Damaris has released a new lyric video for her single ‘Jesus. The song was co-wrote with 2x Grammy winner Seth Mosley (For King & Country, Colton Dixon, TobyMac). Released mid-June, ‘Jesus’ has already gained over 228,000 streams across platforms. Paris-based website Aleteia called it the ’Christian music gem of 2023’, even predicting a Grammy nomination. Italian newspaper Avvenire, based in Milan, noted, “Love for Christ is decidedly at the center of the song.”
Seth Mosley also produced ‘Jesus’ with fellow Grammy winner X O’Connor (Phil Wickham, MercyMe) in Nashville. Pulling from conversations about Jesus, it’s a unique testimony from an Indian and American point of view. ‘Jesus’ was inspired by the CCM pop duo For King and Country, with a tribute to India at the end featuring a dash of tabla and Hindi vocals.
“The most fun part of this release is meeting other Jesus freaks!”, says an exuberant Vihan. Indian Christians have poured in messages to her conveying how it shows them the love of Jesus and encourages them in the faith. Next to India, the US is the 2nd largest country listening to ‘Jesus’. Vihan has also been quoted by Fox Interviewer as the top young Indian Christian YouTuber with over 121000 subscribers now and 10M+ views. Previously her song ‘Love India’ won ‘Best Music Video’ award at the 3rd Indian Cine Film Festival. Her goal is to keep pointing others to Jesus so that they may also receive eternal life.
