Hillsong Young & Free launched six years ago as (another) youthful worship music outlet from Australia’s Hillsong Church, cut from an electropop or synth-centric cloth as compared to the moody rock of their forebears, Hillsong United.

Sarah Reeves first turned heads nearly a decade ago with her debut EP, Sweet Sweet Sound, on Sparrow Records. At the age of 18, Reeves was earning critical acclaim and finding her footing, but to hear her tell the story, she wasn’t ready just yet for the platform and privilege.

Sara Groves is arguably one of the greatest poets storyboarding Christian music over the past two decades. Her propensity for penning the most human verses, married with the most elegant melodies, is so poignant her musicianship can persuade even the hardest of hearts to simply confess and believe. And for those of us who teeter between faith and doubt, Sara’s songs have expressed our heart without judgment, shouldering up with us in our questions as if to say, or sing, “It’s okay. I’ve been there, too. And I suspect God is right here with us.”

Brick by brick, people settled in Shinar to build a city with a tower to reach the heavens. Terrified of being scattered across the earth (the very thing God commanded them to do), they poured all of their resources into their vision of establishing a city and making a name for themselves. Fear was the fuel for their work, and personal glory was their finish line.

Andrew Greer recently sat down with Point of Grace to talk about their new Hymns album, 'Beautiful Name:  Hymns and Worship' (out now).  The girls also perform several of the tracks live for CCM Magazine.
