dc Talk | Last but not least are Christian music legends dc Talk. Their latter days saw the trio emerging more into a rock/pop leaning than their hip-hop roots, which makes them a fit for this list.
Their first foray into rock was 1995’s game changer Jesus Freak (buy). This album propelled one of the biggest groups in contemporary Christian music into the mainstream spotlight. dc Talk’s more experimental pop-infused release, Supernatural (buy), continued the group’s success.
The trio’s rock era ran from 1995 through 2000 before they announced a hiatus in 2001. Over the years, reunion performances have been rare with the last official one occurring in 2005. A few songs have been released throughout the years featuring one or all three of the vocalists on each other’s albums.
Most recently the trio of TobyMac, Michael Tait, and Kevin Max announced a dc Talk reunion on a cruise ship scheduled for 2017. Perhaps this long-awaited reunion will spark an album out of them?
Who are some of your favorite rock bands that you hope to see make comeback albums?
Hey Justin! This is Cody from Seven Day Jones, the dude with half his face in the picture in the right. We’d love to do a reunion, but we broke up much more recently (2014 in fact). Thanks for the shout out, but we’re not Seven Day Jesus… All the best!
