Our events are weaved with play, not for the sake of attendees to brush their troubles under the rug, ignoring real tensions, but quite the opposite. We address our anxiety, fear, and doubt by trusting God to overtake our heavy-laden minds with life. And play is a method used to make this possible. Play is God claiming the minds of His children, paving a path for bountiful worship.

“We are never more fully alive, more completely ourselves, or more deeply engrossed in anything than when we are playing.” –Charles Schaefer

After the attendees park and are greeted by the most hospitable volunteers we could ask for, they grab a doughnut and quickly check in. Then, they walk through the auditorium doors and step into the arena for a life-giving moment of worship. A moment amplified by the path of play that brought them from the parking lot to their seat.

And in that seat, surrounded by their Church-loving neighbors and overwhelmed by the love of their Heavenly Father, they know that every part of their experience has been thoughtfully and intentionally planned by their Catalyst family.

You may find yourself overwhelmed in the trenches of busy, wondering if there’s even time for rest and play. After all, you’re busy with good things, passions that God laid on your heart years ago. But are you enjoying the garden in which you’re laboring? Hard work is godly, but so is purposeful play. We must be intentional about both.

Join us for Catalyst Atlanta on October 4-5, 2018 as we discuss what it looks like to be leaders who are healthy and whole. Leaders who have a grasp on the importance of balancing work, rest, and play. Leaders who are Fully Alive. Let’s drop the badge of busy and claim the peace and joy God has for our lives.
