Application | For me, this all comes down to a practical evaluation of my heart and mind every time I step on stage or behind my drums. First, I need to confess any sin in my life and ask for forgiveness. Then I pray that God can use me as a light for Him, despite of my human nature. Finally, I truly need to give it my best on the drums, after all, it’s for Him and I know He hears me. Song choice, tempo, staying in the pocket, and transitions are all important elements of bringing excellence to Him in worship. But having a prepared heart in tune to worshiping God—to point others to Him—it starts there, and far exceeds the music.
