CCM EXCLUSIVE VIDEO PREMIERE: Stephanie Owens ‘Man Upstairs’

Christian Country music artist and motivational speaker, Stephanie Owens, has announced her first single in two years! “Man Upstairs” will be available on all streaming platforms on November 4th and is now available to Pre-Save.

“I’m very thankful to CCM for the honor of them debuting my “Man Upstairs” song and music video! The Lord has been stirring my heart in new ways over the past couple of years and really burdening me about the need to speak truth boldly in a culture that idolizes doing whatever “feels right” in the moment. The lyrics of this song definitely call out some “comforts” that people run to instead of turning to the Lord, and my hope is that anyone listening lovingly hears that there is just emptiness in anything other than knowing Jesus. We balanced the song’s straightforward message with a feel-good-sounding track, and I’m really excited about the music video! I wanted to use the imagery of baptism to symbolize the new life found in dying to old pursuits and following the Lord, and we filmed the gospel choir scenes to feel like a big celebration – the kind of “parties” that I imagine we’ll joyfully have in heaven someday!” —Stephanie Owens

Written by Stephanie Owens, Melissa Sheridan, and Evan Cline and produced by Owens and Grammy-and-Dove-nominated producer, AJ Pruis, Stephanie says the lyrics are a call to action and might “shake things up” with their bold nature. She describes the track as having a “Gospel-vibe” and like a “breath of fresh air.”
