CCM: If you could potentially tour with any other artist or band (that you haven’t already), who would you choose and why?
Gissela: for King & Country— I love their sound

CCM: What was the last book you read?
Gissela: Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World by Joanna Weaver

CCM: What has been interesting to you musically lately? Perhaps something new to you in terms of listening habits or influences?
Gissela: I have simplified my taste. Elaborate arrangements, as cool as they are, do not speak to me as much as they once did. A simple, honest arrangement and performance is what I am into lately, especially this year.

CCM: Name a song that you wish you’d written (and why).
Gissela: ‘So Will I’ by Hillsong. Incredible lyrics. I can’t help but cry. SERIOUSLY.

CCM: How did you arrive at the name of your new album?
Gissela: I was very sick back in March. Exactly at the same time the lockdown began. As you can imagine, it was very difficult getting to see a doctor. I spent weeks in bed while needing help to take care of my family. I had so much time to think… It was during that time that the inspiration for the album came about: the nostalgic sound, the hymns, and the name Introspections. I really dug deep and realized that what I missed the most was the worship evenings at my grandparents house singing half of the hymnal, being around family—all 30 of us in a small living room—I missed the hugs. All the things we could not do while in quarantine.

CCM: What can listeners expect in terms of the sound, style and lyrics?
Gissela: The deep lyrics and beautiful melodies we all know and love, stunning, nostalgic yet simple arrangements, and an honest performance.
