Phil Wickham: What #1 Means To Him

TEN YEARS IN, WHAT NO. 1 MEANS TO HIM
It was not a great surprise when Phil Wickham’s latest single, “This Is Amazing Grace,” ascended to the No. 1 spot on radio. What was surprising was the fact that this is Wickham’s first career No. 1. For ten years, he has created beautiful, thoughtprovoking, enchanting songs of worship, praise, supplication and adoration. This song was written in the same vein.

“‘This Is Amazing Grace’ was written to give the church a new song to both worship through and sing together,” says Phil. “It’s been awesome to see the way that this song has been impacting Christian radio listeners, and I’m honored to be a part of the work God is doing through it.”

Phil dropped by the CCM studio to share the story behind this particular song and what it means to reach No. 1 at this stage in his career.
