Many folks will remember the goofy church song “Count Your Blessings” they were made to sing in Sunday school growing up. JJ Weeks always hated that song. But the concept of being grateful for the all the things God has done, and continues to do, is something that has been a powerful thing in his own life, particularly as he’s been dealing with some of life’s valleys (specifically the unexpected death of his aunt, who they were very close with, to brain cancer). This song is his attempt to bring that powerful concept to a new, larger audience. Watch a performance video of the song on this page, please click the “play” button above.
Produced by The Sound Kids (Third Day, Paper Route) the song brings JJ’s powerhouse vocal front and center.
And if you’ve been watching social media, and even mainstream media, you already know that gratefulness and gratitude is a theme that’s been on the rise lately. Heck, every mom on Instagram these days ends every single one of the hundreds of posts she has of her kids with “#grateful” and an emoji of some kind.
This song is saying something to your listener’s heart that no other song on your desk is saying. And it’s doing it in a memorable and catchy way.
