Grammy® winner Chris Tomlin celebrated the Platinum certification of his single “Good Good Father” yesterday with artist/songwriter Pat Barrett during a private listening event for Barrett’s self-titled debut album set for release on July 20. Barrett is the flagship artist on Tomlin’s imprint record label, Bowyer & Bow, in partnership with Capitol Christian Music Group.
“I’ve never had the pleasure of giving one of these before,” shared Tomlin as he surprised Barrett with his own Platinum single plaque for “Good Good Father.” “This is absolute recognition for a song that has had the very special, undeniable touch that has connected people directly to God. I am honored to have been be a part of this.”
“Good Good Father” is one of three #1 singles off Tomlin’s current album Never Lose Sight. The pair also teamed up to write the award-winning Good Good Father children’s book, which has sold more than 200,000 copies. Barrett joined Tomlin’s 2018 “Worship Night In America Tour” and he’ll open his “Good Good Father Tour” in Canada this fall.
Tomlin is one of four artists ever to receive the Sound Exchange Digital Radio Award for over One Billion digital radio streams, others include Justin Timberlake, Pitbull and Garth Brooks. “Good Good Father” is part of that radio success and is among his 16 career #1 singles. To date Tomlin’s career resume includes two Platinum and five Gold albums and four Platinum and four Gold singles.
