GRAMMY ® winning Christian music artist Chris Tomlin has released “Be The Moon,” a new digital song from his soon-to-be released album Chris Tomlin & Friends, available digitally on July 31 and in stores August 28. “Be The Moon,” written by Chris, Corey Crowder and Tyler Hubbard, features Brett Young and Cassadee Pope.

“What I have said to each artist that is on this project is that the idea behind, ‘Be The Moon,’ is the heart of this record,” says Chris. “The moon is not striving to be anything; it just puts itself in the right place and reflects the light of the sun. It’s the same for us, we have no light of our own but reflect a greater light, the light of God. This is the essence of Christianity.”

“Singing with me on this song are two friends of mine, Brett Young and Cassadee Pope, who are both incredible artists,” says Chris. “What I found out about Brett, like many of the artists on this record, is that he was brought up in the church leading worship in his youth group. All those incredible harmonies you hear in the song, that is all Cassadee Pope. I am so grateful that they are both on this song with me because I really feel that their hearts reflect the idea of the song.”

“I’ve been such a huge fan of Chris Tomlin for so long! I grew up leading worship and that’s how I found music,” Brett shared. “To be asked to be a part of this project was such an honor and this song is so special and hits very close to home for me. Thanks so much to Chris, THubbs, and Mr. Crowder for bringing me in on this one.”

“As soon as I heard Chris’ story behind the album concept I was drawn to it,” shared Cassadee. “Getting to harmonize with both he and Brett on this song was really special!”

Chris Tomlin & Friends includes 13 tracks with Chris featuring super stars Florida Georgia Line, Lady A and Thomas Rhett as well as several of today’s biggest country music artists.
