Christian music artist, songwriter and worship leader Cody Carnes was honored with his first GRAMMY Award nominations receiving two nods for his work this year. He received a nomination for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album for his studio album, Run To The Father, which features popular worship songs “Nothing Else,” “Christ Be Magnified,” and the title track. Carnes was also nominated for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song for “The Blessing (Live).” The 63rd Annual GRAMMY Awards will air Sunday, Jan. 31, on CBS.

“I’m so unbelievably honored by these nominations and so grateful that these songs have resonated with people in such a special way this year,” shares Cody Carnes on his nominations. “I pray that these nominations mean that the songs have brought the hope of Jesus to people in such a fearful time. What a joy it is to create music for that purpose.”

Carnes’ returned to his worship leading roots on this nominated project and the songs took hold in the church as “Nothing Else” and “Run to the Father” charted on CCLI and MultiTracks this year. The Run To The Father album has 160 million global streams RTD.

He also co-wrote the nominated song, “The Blessing (Live),” along with his wife Kari Jobe and Elevation Worship‘s Steven Furtick and Chris Brown. The song was written and released the week before the world was overcome with the pandemic, and the message was so timely it continues to resonate with millions. The nominated song is the most consumed new CCM song of the year and also won for Worship Song of the Year at this year’s GMA Dove Awards.
