Lyric: “Give me your eyes for just one second
Give me your eyes so I can see
Everything that I keep missing
Give me your love for humanity.”
Song/Album: “Give Me Your Eyes”, What If We
Artist: Brandon Heath

Scripture: “And Jesus, when he came out, saw many people, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd, and he began to teach them many things.” (Mark 6:34)
Reflection: One second! That’s all Jesus needed to look out upon the crowds and be moved with compassion. He knew they were lost, lonely, and hurting. Each one had a story.
Most of us need to hear of someone’s situation before being moved with compassion – that mother who feels unappreciated, that young boy whose parents are divorcing, that neighbor who just lost his job. The list is endless, but it takes time and effort to step out of our comfort zones into other people’s lives. And yet, we interact with people every day: family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, strangers. Many are lost, lonely, and hurting. Each one has a story. Do we know their story? Do we even care? Only then will we truly have eyes to see, and Jesus’ love for humanity!
