The Getty’s have had a truly remarkable year, including the release in June of a new studio album, Facing A Task Unfinished (buy), which debuted at #1 on charts in the USA and UK. The recording marks the first major release of new material since 2012 for the duo and features internationally renowned music artists Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Fernando Ortega, John Patitucci, and Chris Tomlin. Prior to the album’s release, the Getty’s led a global hymn sing of the title song, with an estimated 1.1 million people from 5400+ churches in 100 countries joining to sing the hymn as an affirmation of the importance of evangelism around the world.

Keith and Kristyn also just wrapped up the fall 2016 leg of their Facing A Task Unfinished Tour, which began with three sold-out concerts at Waterfront Hall in Belfast, Northern Ireland, included a performance at London’s famed Royal Albert Hall for BBC television, and continued for another 30 performances in 25 North American cities.  In all, some 50,000 people attended the fall tour dates, and the tour will resume next spring with other international concerts to be included.

Most recently, the duo released another album, Getty Kids Hymnal: In Christ Alone (buy), a recording meant to inspire children to learn about faith through singing along with popular hymns. The album, released late September, debuted at #2 on Soundscan’s Top Children’s Current album chart in its first week out (week ending 9/29), only behind the soundtrack for Trolls. This marked the Gettys’ highest ever chart debut on the secular album charts.  The title also landed at #1 on Soundscan’s Children’s chart in the Christian genre.

It was also recently announced by B&H Publishing (LifeWay) that the couple has entered into a multi-title book agreement.  The first publication is scheduled to release in conjunction with the Gettys’ inaugural international conference on congregational singing to be held in Nashville, September 2017.
