According to Josh Wilson, the song “Revolutionary” is all about kindness. That’s why he decided he needed to release a Spanish language version of the song, “Revolucionario.”
“I believe that kindness matters. It’s so easy to get caught up in all of the negativity we see in the world and on the news, and this song is a reminder that we are called to more than that. We’re called to love as Christ has loved us. I am so encouraged by the acts of kindness I’ve seen recently, even amidst a worldwide pandemic. In many ways, our struggles are actually bringing us together. We’re learning that we all have a lot more in common than we thought and it’s beautiful to see the ways people are serving each other. The lyrics are a prayer for God, through us, to start a revolution of kindness. Recording ‘Revolucionario’ was a special experience for me. I grew up in Texas, where there are many Spanish speakers. Recording this song in Spanish reminds me that kindness is a universal language. My hope is simply for the song and its message of unity to reach more people across our country and around the world.” —Josh Wilson

Excited about the potential impact this song and message could have globally, Black River’s President and CEO Gordon Kerr said, “Josh Wilson just did exactly what his song says. He is trying to share the message of love, hope, and unity to a world that desperately needs it. And he’s taking the risk to even share that message in a language that he had to learn for this song. He is the kind of artist and even more, person, who cares enough to do that. I say that’s pretty REVOLUTIONARY in my book and I’ll stand by that any day!!!”
Lyrics:
Tal vez no eres como yo
Tienes otra opinión
Pero yo sé que no
Somos enemigos
Hay que ser valiente
Dar un paso de fe
Y unirnos para que
Podamos resolver
Es tiempo de abrir los ojos
Para unirnos (si)
Y descubrir que no hay tantas
Diferencias (si)
Porque el amor es tan revolucionario?
Y el odio se ve tan ordinario?
Cambiemos el plan, sin juzgar
Pri-me-ro amar
Dios quiero ser revolucionario
Oh, oh, revolucionario
(Dios quiero ser)
Oh, oh, revolucionario
Apago el televisor
Para callar las voces
Creo que tu y yo
Estamos juntos
Tal vez no somos igual
Pero vamos a caminar
Quiero ver como ves
Y entenderte más
Es tiempo de abrir los ojos
Para unirnos (si)
Y descubrir que no hay tantas
Diferencias (si)
Porque el amor es tan revolucionario?
Y el odio se ve tan ordinario?
Cambiemos el plan, sin juzgar
Pri-me-ro amar
Dios quiero ser revolucionario
Oh, oh, revolucionario
(Dios quiero ser)
Oh, oh, revolucionario
Qué haría Jesús?
Amaría, El amaría
Qué haría Jesús?
Amaría, El amaría
Hay que amarnos!
Porque el amor es tan revolucionario?
Y el odio se ve tan ordinario?
Cambiemos el plan, sin juzgar
Pri-me-ro amar
Dios quiero ser revolucionario
Oh, oh, revolucionario
(Dios quiero ser)
Oh, oh, revolucionario
Dios quiero ser
Revolucionario
