Emerging singer-songwriter Matthew Sassano has released his new single, “Fuel,” in collaboration with Rockfest” Records. The song, which is produced by Josiah Prince of Disciple, is an anthem for those who have faced adversity and challenges.
In “Fuel,” Matthew Sassano shares his personal journey of overcoming a series of challenging circumstances. Hailing from upstate New York as the son of a small-town pastor, Sassano faced numerous hurdles, including academic struggles and feelings of being an outsider. Adding to his challenges, he battled cerebral palsy and dyscalculia, making life an uphill battle. Behind the scenes, he also confronted domestic abuse and mental health battles, all while dealing with bullies and betrayals from people who seemed determined to see him fail.
“Fuel” serves as Sassano’s heartfelt “thank you” to all those circumstances and people that attempted to destroy him but ultimately served as the driving force that propelled him higher in his life and calling as ordained by God.
The lyrics of “Fuel” are deeply rooted in the biblical passage Isaiah 54:17, which emphasizes that no weapon formed against a person shall prosper, and any judgment cast upon them shall be refuted. Matthew Sassano’s message is one of hope and resilience, reminding listeners that dark circumstances and spiritual adversaries cannot crush their spirit.
Sassano’s message is clear: “If you are surrounded by circumstances and people who are trying their best to orchestrate your downfall, they have no power over you. Often, these challenging experiences produce perseverance, which, in turn, fuels us to reach the destination God has planned for us. Stay strong, rely on God, and continue to fight on.”
