NASHVILLE, Tenn.
Five-time GRAMMY-nominated Christian artist and songwriter Matthew West has joined forces with Mercy Chefs through his ministry popwe to create the Give A Gobble campaign, dedicated to providing meals for those impacted by Hurricane Helene in North Carolina. With an original goal of $25,000, the Give A Gobble campaign has raised over $44,000 in less than a week, totaling over 12,000 meals provided. Inspired by his viral holiday hit “Gobble Gobble,” the campaign will continue through Giving Tuesday (12/3) to provide even more chef-prepared meals to those in need. More information on the campaign and a donation link can be found here.
Matthew’s ministry, popwe, is dedicated to going beyond the music. Popwe connects, inspires and gives hope by sharing the redemptive power of Jesus through stories, prayer, discipleship and giving.
“Gobble Gobble” continues to strike virality across social media four years after its original release. West’s recent reel of the music video received almost 2M views in less than 48 hours, while the sound itself has been utilized for user-generated content creating over 16.6k Instagram reels and 12.5k posts on TikTok and particularly resonating with teachers across the internet. In the month of November alone, “Gobble Gobble” content across platforms has received 3.6M views, 3.6M impressions, 193k engagements and 57k reach per post.
West has also seen recent songwriting success with two cuts in the Top 5 on the MediaBase Christian AC and Billboard Christian Airplay charts right now – “The Truth” by Megan Woods and “Worship Through It” by Tasha Layton. He currently boasts 35 No. 1 songs as an artist and songwriter combined.
Continuing the momentum throughout the rest of the holiday season, West will host his Come Home For Christmas weekend Dec. 5–Dec. 8 in Franklin, Tenn. and return as the host and headliner for the annual Franklin Christmas Tree Lighting on Dec. 6. The weekend will be full of festivities and worship to ring in the holidays, as well as celebrate the release of his new book “Come Home for Christmas.” Following the beloved weekend, West will head to Florida for four shows of Come Home For Christmas, The Concert from Dec. 10–Dec. 13. Tickets can be purchased online at matthewwest.com.
Following the release of his 13th studio album, Don’t Stop Praying, this October, West hit the road on his Don’t Stop Praying Tour. The powerful show took to 17 cities nationwide, using his inspiring music to encourage listeners to commit to the power of prayer in 2024. West’s ‘Don’t Stop Praying’ movement doesn’t stop on the road. The release of his eighth book, “Come Home For Christmas,” and distribution of ‘Don’t Stop Praying’ yard signs scattered throughout Nashville continue to fuel the powerful message.
