Reunions about at Kingdom Bound—Peter Furler reunites on stage with Newsboys for the hit single “The Cross Has The Final Word”
BUFFALO, NY—This past week thousands of Christian music fans attended Kingdom Bound, New York state’s largest Christian music festival. Featuring over 50 artists and located at Darien Lake Amusement & Water Park, the event offered something for everyone, but one moment stood out among the rest.
On Saturday night Peter Furler joined his former Newsboys band mates as a guest vocalist for a live performance of the song “The Cross Has The Final Word” (buy single). Watch a clip of the performance on this page, click “play” above.
In an Instagram post following the event, Newsboys’ drummer Duncan Phillips said, “Thanks again Kingdom Bound and Darien Lake for a show we’ll remember for a while! The weather was perfect with an amazingly engaged crowd! I hope we play #kingdombound for years to come! Much love.”
In addition to this special reunion between Furler and Newsboys, Kingdom Bound also featured multiple other artist collaborations. Mac Powell of Third Day joined Peter Furler for the hit song “Shine,” and 2017 GRAMMY-nominee Zach Williams joining Powell for a special rendition of the southern rock song “Midnight Rider.”
During the festival, Kingdom Bound announced that GRAMMY-Winners for KING & COUNTRY and Casting Crowns have been confirmed for Kingdom Bound 2018 (July 29-August 1, 2018).
