REDDING, Calif. — American Idol finalist and multi-genre singer/songwriter Rachel Hale announced her newest single “A Man” set for release Sept. 16. In “A Man,” Rachel Hale harkens back to her country roots with a tongue-in-cheek prayer. In this upbeat and gospel-infused single, Rachel Hale begs mankind to get it together.
Rachel co-wrote “A Man” with songwriters CJ Solar and Andrew Scott Wills. The track was produced by Grammy-nominated Sal Oliveri and mixed by Grammy winner Andrew Ramsey.
“When CJ, Andrew and I sat down to write, we were just catching up, and I was complaining about how hard it’s been to find a true southern man these days. Where I grew up in southwest Arkansas, men drive trucks, hunt and wear cowboy boots,” said Rachel. “At the time, I was new to Nashville, and I was wondering where I could find my type of man. I dramatically cried out, ‘Can I get A MAN?!’ It sounded comically familiar to the phrase you hear in church, ‘Can I get an amen?’ The rest is history. We took the pun, and ‘A Man’ was written in just a couple of hours. My hope is that this song becomes an anthem for women who feel like me. I also hope this song gives men the courage they need to be their best selves.”
