Nashville, TN (June 26, 2020)
Dutch band, The Bowery (comprised of Rokus Maasland andRamon Scherrenberg), has released its first single, “We Will Dance,” from its forthcoming album. The song came together through a wonderful collaboration between Dutch and American musicians. The bass parts were played by Chris Donohue, who has worked with Emmylou Harris, Tom Jones and Over the Rhine, among others. The violin was played by Frank van Essen and Sjoerd Visser is responsible for the solo with the Uilleann Pipes. The mix was done back in Nashville again by Joshua Reynolds. After that it was mastered at the Wisseloord Studios in Holland. The song is (just like the rest of the album) produced by Henk Pool.
“We Will Dance” is about the physical phenomenon that there is always a place of calm with in the centre of a hurricane, a place of total tranquility. Singer Rokus Maasland encourages the listener to find that place in the hurricanes in your life. “Sometimes the COVID-19 pandemic also feels like a huge storm that is currently blowing through the world and is turning everything upside down. And it’s so important to find a place of rest in the middle of that storm. A place of rest in your life, in your head and in your heart.” And so the bearded men came to the theme of this song.
Initially, the new album would be recorded in Nashville, but due to the crisis Rokus, Ramon and producer Henk Pool were unable to fly. They decided to continue working with the studio in Nashville and some local musicians remotely.

“We Will Dance” Lyrics:
Verse 1
Someday hurricanes will blow
It seems the world no longer spins
But the storms that come, will go
One day we will dance again
Verse 2
Now I know the wind is stronger
Then I thought it was back then
But remember it won’t take much longer
Before we will dance again
Chorus
Don’t you know that we will sing again, my love
‘Cause not everything is torn
Do you know what I’ve been dreaming of
We will dance in the eye of the storm
Verse 3
When the day turns into the night
It’s getting darker than it’s ever been
Close your eyes and keep in sight
One day we will dance again
Chorus
Don’t you know that we will sing again, my love
‘Cause not everything is torn
Do you know what I’ve been dreaming of
We will dance in the eye of the storm
