Montaner Family Passes 122 Million Views on “Amen” Video

The undeniable magnetism of a family that has helped shape the popular scene in Latin America is reflected in “Amén,” a song written, produced, and performed by all its members. For the first time ever, the entire Montaner family—Ricardo, Evaluna, Mau, Ricky, and Camilo—have come together to release a song of hope and unity. Each a popular artist in their own right, the family blended their respective musical styles and combined various elements throughout the song in com-position, lyrics, and intention. “Amén” was produced by Richi López and Ricardo Montaner, one of the most recognized singer/songwriters in the entire Spanish-speaking world.

Speaking to the sound of the track made by López and the combi-nation of their voices Camilo explains, “our love and mutual admira-tion are reflected in this song.” The chorus for this emblematic mu-sical theme was proposed one morning during a family breakfast. “The word Amén is a universal term that means the same in all lan-guages, a word that unites everything. When you believe with certain-ty in something you say ‘Amén’,” explains Montaner.

“Amén” was written long before the global pandemic, but, in the words of Mau Montaner, “the release came at the perfect time. Amén carries a message of hope at the same time that it reflects deep an-guish, a feeling that many live under normal circumstances, and even more during this season of isolation and uncertainty.”

Ricky Montaner shares, “Amén is a timeless ballad relevant to any situation of pain and hopelessness that a person may be experienc-ing.” Evaluna Montaner echoes, “this song is the perfect vehicle to ask for help.”

The video was filmed under the direction of Marlene Montaner, making the visual production a family affair as well. Done in a sin-gle take, the video carries a simple and sober aesthetic with incom-parable visual force, in which each artist radiates light and trans-mits their intention through their interpretation. Since its release in late 2020, the official video for Amén has garnered over 122 million views.
