“Church in the Bando” is the first installment of many concept songs associated with the duo’s forthcoming album, entitled The New Church. Its upbeat, energetic, trap sound, displays The New Cool’s ability to mix popular references with ministry-driven lyrical content, appealing to the urban and suburban Christian audiences, and captivating non-traditional “church-goers” from urban communities. “Bando” is an urban slang term for the word “abandoned”. The theme of this song is simple, “We’re bringing Christ to the abandoned,” states groupmembers, Baroe and Ozone.
