The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts includes Amy Grant as one of their five distinguished Honorees to receive the 45th Kennedy Center Honors ceremony to celebrate the lifetime artistic achievements of honorees Amy Grant, George Clooney, Gladys Knight, Tania Leon and U2.
The Highwomen (Brandi Carlile, Maren Morris, Natalie Hemb, and Amanda Shires, accompanied by Jason Isbell), Sheryl Crow, BeBe & CeCe Winans and Michael W. Smith, with special appearances by Katie Couric, Cheetah Rivera, and video narration by Lauren Daigle.
The Kennedy Center Honors is a two-hour special celebrating performing arts icons for their lifetime of contributions to American culture. The 45th annual star-studded gala will honor acclaimed actor and filmmaker George Clooney; contemporary Christian music pop singer-songwriter Amy Grant; the legendary singer of soul, Gospel, R&B and pop Gladys Knight; Cuban-born American composer, conductor and educator Tania León; and iconic Irish rock band U2, comprised of band members Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen, Jr. Honorees will be saluted by today’s leading performers from New York, Hollywood and the arts capitals of the world, accepting the recognition and gratitude of their peers through performances and tributes.
