For Noel Robinson, influential songwriter, recording artist, and pioneer of the UK gospel music community, a devotion to the local church has been the heartbeat of his life and career. With over 30 years of ministry behind him, Noel has carved out a legacy that bridges cultures, generations, and genres. His music is a vibrant blend of contemporary worship and gospel, an expression that resonates deeply with believers from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
Noel’s journey began in London’s Church of God of Prophecy, where his father’s example as a musician inspired him to contribute to Sunday worship from an early age. By the time he was 13, Noel was performing double bass with his school orchestra, earning recognition through competitions and travel opportunities. His musical curiosity led him to explore jazz improvisation and composition, skills he would later channel into the church, enriching worship experiences with fresh creativity.
In his early career, Noel served as the national music and communications director for the Church of God of Prophecy. From there, he partnered with influential Christian ministries such as Spring Harvest, Reinhard Bonnke’s Christ for All Nations, Baptist Assembly, and the Elim network of churches. A regular on BBC’s Songs of Praise and the driving force behind the Renewal Worship Encounters, Noel has touched countless lives through his music and leadership, including training worship leaders across cultures and nations.
An award-winning artist and five-time MOBO nominee, Noel’s discography includes six albums, featuring anthems such as Rain, You Give Me Life, and the chart-topping Arrested by Your Love. His 2015 release Outrageous Love solidified his impact, while his 2018 album I Surrender brought hits like Faithful God and He’s Able. Most recently, his 2022 single You Are Unrivalled has continued to travel the globe, reaffirming his role as a pioneer in UK Christian music. In 2015, Noel became the first Black British worship leader to sign with Integrity Music globally, further cementing his influence on the international worship scene.
Now, Noel Robinson begins 2025 with the re-release of his acclaimed album Devoted, originally issued in 2012 but unavailable on digital platforms for several years. Set for release on January 6, this album is a testament to Noel’s dedication to sharing songs that touch hearts and inspire worship. Featuring collaborations with celebrated artists like Israel Houghton, Donna Akodu, Tim Hughes, Chevelle Franklin, Guvna B, and Faye Simpson, Devoted is both a reflection of Noel’s transparency and a celebration of God’s faithfulness.
Listeners can expect intimate tracks like I Will Worship You Through the Pain, a song that explores finding God amid rejection and struggles, as well as energetic celebration pieces like Freedom, a danceable anthem of liberation and joy. Noel describes this re-release as an opportunity to reconnect with his listeners, sharing a project that continues to carry a powerful message of hope and praise.
As the host of Vox Collective, the UK’s only live Christian music series, and a presenter on GodTV, Noel Robinson remains a vibrant voice within the worship community. With the re-release of Devoted, he reaffirms his commitment to uniting believers through the transformative power of music.
