38th Parallel | 38th Parallel was a duel vocalist rap-rock band in similar fashion to Linkin Park, who put out one album and a demo between the years 2000 through 2005. They are most known for the songs “Horizon” and “Turn the Tides.”

The band featured a rap vocalist and a singer, after being discovered, signed with Squint Entertainment in 2001. In 2002 they released Turn The Tides (buy), and while the album was solid, it unfortunately came toward the tail end of nu-metal and rap-rock’s dominance on the music airwaves for a non-established band.

Despite this, they managed a nationwide tour with Skillet and The Benjamin Gate and even earned a Rock Album Of The Year nomination at the Dove Awards.

They officially disbanded in 2006, and vocalist Mark Jennings released a bunch of unheard demos on their MySpace page. Four of the five members reunited for a show in 2007, but that appears to be it for the band.
