Bethel Music ‘Victory’ Review

Bethel Music
Victory
(Bethel Music)

Birthed out of a time of true testing that spans the reach of out-of-control wildfires, hope-filled adoptions, health issues, and more, Victory, the latest from the Bethel Music collective, takes the praise to the front lines. Featuring plenty of Bethel favorites alongside some great guests like Daniel Bashta and Molly Skaggs, Victory is an album that ripples with excitement.

A rousing call to worship led by Jonathan and Melissa Houser, “Raise A Hallelujah” kicks things off strong while Jenn Johnson’s acoustic-flavored “Goodness of God” is the instant must-listen, the lyric poignantly celebrating God’s faithfulness through every circumstance. A surprising high point is Molly Skaggs and her cover of the old gospel favorite, “Ain’t No Grave.” The moody modern country vibe energizes until Bethany Wohrle delivers an anthemic declaration on “Victory Is Yours.” Bright energy informs Daniel Bashta and Harvest’s “Drenched In Love” while familiar hits like “Living Hope” and Cory Asbury’s “Endless Alleluia” close out the set on a very high note.

Bethel Music’s Victory is worship music at its finest, showcasing heartfelt praise that emerges from lived-in truth and results in one of the collective’s strongest efforts to date.
