There’s nothing wrong with Brittany Jester’s self-titled debut EP. The songs are safe and sound. The lyrics are tried and true. And that’s the problem. The 25-year-old vocalist offers nothing new to the marketplace that hasn’t already been recorded (and re-recorded) ad nauseum in recent years. That’s not Jester’s problem; it’s an industry issue. But for the consumer, Brittany Jester is a middling product.
