Consumed By Fire – ‘Giving Over’ album review

Consumed By Fire, CCM Magazine - imageOutside of last year’s EP Lean On Me, Oklahoma’s Consumed By Fire are basically brand new faces to Christian music at the national level, though with four independent albums under their belt, the band comprised of the Ward brothers are certainly seasoned. On Giving Over, front man/guitarist Caleb, guitarist Josh and drummer Jordan further demonstrate an instinctive chemistry and naturally knit harmonies, kicked up by production from veteran Scotty Wilbanks (Third Day, Needtobreathe), who discovered the band on YouTube. In keeping with those credits, the project is loaded with foot-stompin’ and roots rockin’ romps, plus several stripped down ballads, while the heartfelt lyrical spread ranges from the valley of struggle through the apex of victory.
