Luke + Anna Hellebronth
Motions of Mercy
(Integrity Music)
Fueled by a desire to explore and celebrate “the great depth and cost of the love of God,” U.K.-based worship leaders Luke + Anna Hellebronth unveil their debut album, Motions of Mercy. Driven by that passion to exalt God’s love and grace, the worship leaders from St. Luke’s Gas Street in Birmingham, UK, are aided by the songwriting efforts of such writers as Matt Maher, Brenton Brown, Ben Cantelon, and their pastor and fellow artist, Tim Hughes.
“Up and Alive” is true to its name, delivering high pop worship energy that feels truly alive with a lyric celebrating freedom in Jesus. “See Me Through” follows suit, a restless guitar run setting the stage for lyrics honoring God’s faithfulness. “Abide” steps forward and is a perfect showcase for Anna’s stirring vocals, the vertical anthem a true highlight here as “Revive Us (Heavy Rain)” delivers a passionate plea for God’s Spirit to pout out. “Arrow” finds it’s mark in the bullseye with warm, earnest vocals from Luke and further accolades to Christ and opens the door to reflection in “All for Love (Gethsemane)” and poignant worship on “Kingdom of God.”
Built on a foundation of theology and vertical praise, Luke + Anna Hellebronth’s debut, Motions of Mercy, is a welcome submission to the modern worship canon.
