From one of the hottest and most popular new artists to hit Christian music in the last twelve months, Steven Malcolm returns with the first of what (we hope) to be a series of new EP’s under the title The Second City. With just four tracks, Part 1 (buy) contains a plethora of sonic material, kicking off with sixty seconds of a hymn-like and silky-smooth intro from Taylor Hill on “Not To Us (Good Love).” Other collaborations feature Hill on the EP’s most bouncy, snap-your-fingers track, “Rodeo,” in addition to new artists Zauntee and Anderson Michael also featured throughout. From rockin’ the Winter Jam and Dove Awards stages to partnering with Hollyn and We Are Messengers in his inaugural year on the scene, The Second City (Part 1) is a welcomed indication that we’ve only witnessed the beginning of this artist’s potential.
